Change can be hard.
We all want to lose weight. Get stronger. Spend less time scrolling. Be a better at staying in touch.
But even if you have strong desires to change...it oftentimes doesn't happen.
Why?
Why can it be so hard to do something we want to do?
The answer is:
Our habits derive from our identity.
If you want to change your habits, you must first change your identity.
Your current habits are a reflection of your current identify.
Your future habits will be a reflection of the identity you create.
For example, have you ever said things like:
"I don't like working out"
"I'm too busy to workout"
"I get home so tired after work to exercise"
These are all statements that reinforce your current identity.
The identity of someone who doesn't work out & stay active.
Now to create the change you want, you first have to start believing new things about yourself.
So for example, instead practice saying things like:
"I do something active every single day"
"I workout even on the days I'm tired"
"I always have time to do the things I prioritize"
These statements will build the identity of the person you are trying become:
👉 A person who lives a healthy & active lifestyle.
If you work on creating a new identity, the habits will come.
And when you have the habits, the results are right around the corner.
